Chicago Bears 2024 NFL mock draft: Picks, predictions and key needs

The Chicago Bears are potentially sitting on a goldmine at the top of this year’s NFL Draft.

Last year’s blockbuster trade with the Carolina Panthers means that the Bears have the first overall pick, plus the ninth selection, meaning they are in a position to snap up two potentially game-changing prospects.

Here is a look at Chicago’s picks, needs and who they may go for.

Chicago Bears draft picks

  • No. 1 overall (from Panthers) (first round)
  • No. 9 overall (first round)
  • No. 75 overall (third round)
  • No. 122 (from Philadelphia) (fourth round)

Key Needs

Trading away Justin Fields this offseason means a new quarterback will be on the way - more about that later - while they could also look for more depth at wide receiver and offensive tackle.

Defensively, an edge rusher and defensive tackle are the biggest needs.

Predictions

Even the Bears themselves aren’t trying to hide the fact they will make Caleb Williams the number one overall selection. The USC quarterback is one of the best prospects in recent years, so this one’s a no-brainer.

What they do with the number nine pick is more interesting. Given how many quarterbacks are set to go off the board early doors, could wide receiver Rome Odunze still be available? If so, it would hand Williams an excellent weapon.

The Bears will then have to sit out the second round and have just two more selections over the rest of the draft. Edge rushers such as Chris Braswell, Adisa Isaac or Bralen Trice are likely to be available at 75, while their final selection is likely to be a developmental prospect.
