William Zepeda forces Maxi Hughes' corner to end fight after vicious beating

Once William Zepeda revved up, the buzzsaw of a beating didn't stop.

Zepeda unleashed an incessant body attack to force Maxi Hughes' corner to stop the fight after the fourth round at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and live on DAZN, on Saturday night. Not only did Zepeda improve to 30-0 with 26 knockouts, but he became a mandatory challenger for the WBA and IBF lightweight world titles.

Following his victory, Zepeda let it be known that he's ready to fight whoever — whether Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson or the winner of the upcoming Vasiliy Lomachenko-George Kambosos fight.

After Hughes punched in traffic with Zepeda in the opening round Saturday, Zepeda asserted his jab in the second round and began battering the Brit's body with debilitating shots.

Hughes couldn't keep Zepeda off of him as the Mexican fought forward and was relentless to the body. The body work was so punishing that Hughes' corner decided to end the fight after the fourth round, saving their fighter from being further victimized by the onslaught.

The final damage rung up by Zepeda's high-volume buzzsaw style? A total of 161 punches landed out of 408 thrown for an astounding 40 percent clip.
