Ben Shalom gives big update on major British fight

Ben Shalom has admitted that he’s looking at other options for Joshua Buatsi as talks with Anthony Yarde are still not progressing.  

The meeting between two of Britain’s best light-heavyweights is almost certain to be a huge event and it was expected that a showdown between the pair would take place this year. 

Negotiations have been going on for a long time in the hope of securing the bout, but it’s nowhere near being complete.  

Shalom, the promoter of Buatsi, says he is frustrated that the fight still has not been made and now he will have to see what else is out there for his man. 

“It takes two to tango. Look, I’m gutted we haven’t got the Yarde fight over the line yet,” said Shalom when speaking to BoxingScene. 

“It’s a kick in the teeth as we’ve got a lot of British fights done this year and that’s another one, that’s a monster, and to not get that, and to not have that yet, it’s frustrating to me.  

“It’s frustrating to Josh. It’s a fight we wanted. I’m still hopeful, but we are looking at other opportunities now.”
