Aaron Donald opens up on GOAT debate following retirement

Newly retired defensive tackle Aaron Donald has given his thoughts on whether he is the greatest defensive player of all time.

Donald announced his retirement last Friday. He enjoyed a Hall of Fame career. During his ten-year career, Donald won three Defensive Player of The Year Awards and the Deacon Jones Award, earned eight First-Team All-Pro selections, and won one Super Bowl.

Donald recorded 111 career sacks, 340 solo tackles and 176 TFL's.

Throughout his career, many regarded Donald as the best defensive player. Some even felt Donald was the overall best player.

Now, Donald has weighed in on the GOAT debate. Donald told the LA Rams' YouTube channel, "I think in my era, yes, I was the greatest, but everybody was different. You've got great guys I looked up to, like Ray Lewis, the greatest in his time, (Troy) Polamalu, a Pittsburgh guy, and Lawrence Taylor.

"It's hard to say in different eras because the game changed so much.

"But in the time I played? I held my own, and I changed the game too."
