Jurgen Klopp 'absolutely fine' with Liverpool draw at Manchester United

Jurgen Klopp thinks Liverpool "should have won the game" against Manchester United on Sunday.

The teams battled to a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, with each side taking a lead during the course of the match. The Red Devils appeared to be on the way to a crucial three points but Mohamed Salah's 84th-minute penalty kick ensured that the rivals each walked away with a point.

Liverpool manager Klopp was left to wonder what could have been had his side capitalised on more of their chances, especially given the heated title race that his club are involved in, but ultimately he accepted the result.

"I'm not angry at all with the boys but in the game I'm not just going to let things happen," Klopp told Sky Sports. "We dropped too deep. There were plenty of situations where we could have defended the ball. You need to be proactive.

"We play now at home against Atalanta [in the Europa League], a difficult game but at home and then another. We don't have many home games left.

"The team who wins the league in the end should deserve it. We are in the race and I'm absolutely fine with it."

Liverpool are tied on 71 points with league leaders Arsenal, who have a superior goal difference. Defending league champions Manchester City are just a point behind, with all three teams having seven matches left to play in the season.
