Haney will be taking on former unified super lightweight champion Jose Ramirez who last fought in November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

There is a lot of pressure on the shoulders of Haney who has been radio silent since his clash with Ryan Garcia in April 2024, with a rematch against Garcia seemingly in the works later this year if Haney manages to get the win.

For Haney, this will be his first fight since losing to Ryan Garcia in April 2024, a contest which has since been ruled a no contest.

The former undisputed lightweight champion will be eager to shake off some ring rust after 13 months of inactivity as he looks to restablish himself as a major star. 

Ramirez on the other hand fought twice last year with one win and one loss.

His loss came in November when Arnold Barboza Jr beat the former unified super lightweight champion by unanimous decision Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
