'Manifested this moment!' - Skye Nicolson ready for history as Tiara Brown bids to stop Sonic the Hedgehog

Skye Nicolson believes she has "manifested this moment" as she returns to Australia as world champion, but her foe Tiara Brown has vowed to stop her Sonic the Hedgehog act.

The former defends her WBC featherweight title against the latter at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena beneath George Kambosos and Jake Wyllie's clash this weekend live on DAZN.

It marks a second professional fight in her home country for the Queenslander, and her first as champion, last fighting on her own turf in 2022 against Krystina Jacobs in Brisbane.

Having now mounted two successful defences of her crown, Nicolson hopes to reward the Australian faithful among her fans with another impressive display in New South Wales.

"I'm more than ready," she told Thursday's press conference. "I absolutely can't wait. I'm in unbelievable shape and I'm ready for absolutely anything on Saturday.

"One hundred percent, [Brown is] a good fighter. You can't be 18-0 and not be a good fighter. We've prepared for the best possible version of Tiara Brown.

"We've manifested this moment, coming back to Australia as world champion. It's an honour to do it here in front of an Aussie crowd and I'm going to perform for them."

Brown however has vowed to put a stop to Nicolson's style in the ring, criticising her approach and comparing her to the titular video game character known for his speed.

"There's a difference between boxing and running," she added. "Skye runs from her opponents. She throws seven or eight punches per round.  No-one wants a fight [like that].

"We want to see a fight. I'm going to do my part. I'm not going to allow her to do that Sonic the Hedgehog , running around the ring all night. Come Saturday, I'm chopping her off."
