Five wide receivers to watch at 2024 NFL Combine

The NFL season may have finished, but for those players looking to become the league’s next big star things are only just getting started.

The week-long NFL Scouting Combine starts on Monday, 26 February, and the latest batch of players attempt to impress their potential future team at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Players from all positions will be taking part at the combine, but DAZN takes a look at five wide receivers to keep an eye out for.

Marvin Harrison Jr.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is one of, if not the, best wide receiver prospect for several years.

Son of the former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver and Super Bowl XLI winner, Harrison Jr. caught 144 passes for 2,474 yards and 28 touchdowns over the past two seasons at Ohio State.

The 21-year-old is sure to be taken among the first few picks of the 2024 NFL Draft, and he will be keen to impress potential suitors this week.

Malik Nabers

In most drafts, Malik Nabers would be considered the top wide receiver prospect. This year, that title goes to Harrison Jr. but that should not take away from the talent that Nabers is.

Nabers’ run-after-catch ability makes him a special player, and his 80-catch, 1,424 yard season in 2023 was among the best in college football.

The 20-year-old out of LSU is expected to test extremely well at the NFL Combine, and barring any setbacks is likely to be taken in the first six or seven picks of the NFL Draft.

Rome Odunze

Rome Odunze is a physical presence on the football field, and he dominated college football in 2023.

The 21-year-old led all college football in receiving yards last season, totalling an eye-watering 1,640 yards in just 15 games for the Washington Huskies.

Odunze is yet another wide receiver expected to go in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Keon Coleman

Standing at 6’4”, Keon Coleman is one of the bigger wide receivers in this year’s group, and he used his size to his benefit in college.

Coleman is not the speedster that some of the other wide receivers in this class are, but he proved himself to be a reliable red-zone target in college, scoring 22% of FSU’s touchdowns in 2023.

Coleman is expected to excel at the NFL Scouting Combine, and could start rising up mock draft boards with a good showing in Indianapolis.

Brian Thomas Jr.

On most college teams, Brian Thomas Jr’s 2023 season would have been the best among the wide receivers, however the 21-year-old was somewhat overshadowed by Nabers.

That being said, Thomas led LSU for touchdowns last season - scoring 17 compared to Nabers’ 14 - and he still caught 68 catches for over 1,000 yards.

There is no clear consensus on where Thomas will be taken in the NFL Draft, so a good showing at the NFL Combine could improve the wide receivers chances of being taken in the first round.
