Anthony Joshua is still interested in a possible fight with WBC world heavyweight Deontay Wilder despite his loss to Joseph Parker.

Joshua returns to the ring on March 8 when he takes on former UFC star Francis Ngannou, but before a fight with Ngannou was made, a deal was in place for Joshua to face Wilder.

Whether this particular contest would get made rested on the performance of both men at the "Day of Reckoning" card last December.

Joshua held up his end of the deal with a dominant stoppage win over Otto Wallin, however Wilder failed to beat Parker after losing on the judges' scorecards.

Any plans for an upcoming Joshua vs. Wilder fight vanished following the American's loss, but Joshua has not completely written off the chances of a Wilder fight and believes it can still be made if the right conditions are met.

“It’s a fight that fans want to see,” Joshua told Sky Sports when asked about the prospect of facing Wilder.

“I’m not saying it’s completely written off.

“It’s a fight where everything was signed and sealed. It just needed both of us to deliver. And he didn’t meet his end of the bargain.”
