century by Jacob Oram, New Zealand were restricted to a competitive 212 for nine wickets by Bangladesh in the second one-day international on Saturday. Paceman Syed Rasel (3-23) led a Bangladesh bowling side that ripped through the New Zealand order after the tourists had made a modest start. Fifth-down batsman Oram hit his first 50 runs playing 56 balls but in the last over of the innings, he amassed 25 runs off left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak and hit three impressive sixes. Oram hit another six and five boundaries, playing 62 balls to post his 11th ODI half-century. Razzak earlier dropped Oram on 26 at cover off pace bowler Shahadat Hossain. Each of casual spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Naeem Islam bagged two wickets apiece, both giving 20 runs. Paceman Mashrafe Mortaza got the other wicket of Scott Styris (0), while Tim Southee (0) was run out by Shahadat. Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field on a moisture-dampened wicket but New Zealand started confidently, hitting 31 runs off the first seven overs before losing opener Brendon McCullum (12). New Zealand lost three more wickets in 15 overs when Jamie How (0), Jesse Ryder (30) Styris (0) went back to dressing room, before Daniel Flynn (25) helped advance the score to 86. Flynn was bowled by Naeem and Ross Taylor (33) was caught by Zunaed Siddique at backward off Shakib. He playing 46 balls and hit a six and two boundaries. Ryder was caught and bowled by Rasel, before he played 42 balls to hit four boundaries. Taylor hit two sixes and two boundaries out of 54 balls. Kyle Mills added 17 before he was bowled by Shakib.
