Frank Leboeuf says Mauricio Pochettino not to blame for Chelsea woes

Mauricio Pochettino should not shoulder the blame for Chelsea's mediocre season, according to Frank Leboeuf.

The Blues are in ninth place in the Premier League ahead of their Monday evening match against Everton, and they could realistically slip out of the top 10 with a bad run of results over the final weeks of the campaign.

Chelsea's struggles have put manager Mauricio Pochettino on the hot seat even though the 52-year-old has yet to complete his first full season in charge, but Leboeuf says it would be unfair to blame Pochettino for the club's failings.

Speaking to Fastestpayoutonlinecasino.com, former longtime Chelsea defender Leboeuf feels the fingers should be pointed elsewhere.

"The people who should be under the most pressure at Chelsea are the board," he said. "They have created the situation that Pochettino is trying to deal with.

"Yes he accepted the contract but it’s hard to cope with so much change and they are not going to change their way of thinking when it comes to signing young players.

"They need to sign experienced players to cope with the situation but they’re not going to do that and if they keep doing what they’re doing it’s not going to work.

"Pochettino is going to be under too much pressure eventually and he’s going to be sacked, they will then be under too much pressure and be in exactly the same situation."
