Florent Malouda believes Chelsea star can 'become the next Kylian Mbappe'

There is no doubt Chelsea's Cole Palmer has emerged as a breakout star for the 2023/24 season.

The 21-year-old made a huge decision in the summer when he decided to leave Manchester City to join Chelsea, and so far this move has paid off.

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, Palmer has cemented himself as one of the team's premier stars, scoring 19 goals in 37 appearances and former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has now claimed that Palmer has the same ability as football superstar Kylian Mbappe.

"I think that what Palmer has shown this season is the same ability that Mbappe showed when he first burst onto the scene at Monaco," Malouda said in an interview with Gambling Zone.

"Cole is a little bit older than Kylian was when he broke through, but in terms of his decision making, his calmness and his ability, he reminds me of Mbappe. That tells you everything about his potential and how far he could go."

Following Chelsea's struggles in the Premier League, Palmer will be hoping he can help his team win the FA Cup to salvage what has been a disappointing season, but they will first need to get past defending champions Manchester City in a semi-final at Wembley Stadium on April 20.
