Jake Paul destroys Ryan Bourland with first-round TKO

Jake Paul predicted a second-round knockout against Ryan Bourland.

Well, he did even better than that. Paul overwhelmed Bourland toward a first-round TKO at Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in Suan Juan, Puerto Rico, and live on DAZN, on Saturday night.

"I wanted it to be a little bit longer, give the fans more time," Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) told DAZN after recording his ninth professional victory in his 10th pro fight and second straight first-round stoppage.

"I guess we have to step it up way more."

Fighting against the third boxer he has faced, Paul made quick work of Bourland, immediately asserting the jab before adding a crunching right hook to the body.

Moments later, he used an overhand right to wobble Bourland before giving chase and unleashing more shots. With the overmatched, reeling Bourland in major trouble, Paul trapped him in the corner where he unloaded on a barrage of punches, prompting the referee to step in and stop the bout at the 2:37 mark.

Paul called out Canelo Alvarez – as he's done before — but then said he wasn't going to mention any other boxers as he reasoned that he doesn't want to give them any spotlight.

Paul's fight was supposed to serve as the co-main event to Amanda Serrano vs. Nina Meinke with Serrano’s unified featherweight world championship on the line in her Puerto Rico homecoming. However, it turned out to be the main event itself as the Serrano-Meinke bout was cancelled due to a late eye injury that Serrano sustained.

Here's how the rest of the main card went.
