Aaron Jones makes big decision following Green Bay release

Less than 24 hours after being released by the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Jones has found a new home. And Green Bay Packers fans won't like his decision.

Per NFL insider Dianna Russini, Jones has agreed to join Green Bay's rivals, the Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers released Jones following their signing of Josh Jacobs. Green Bay signed Jacobs to a four-year, $48 million contract.

That move left Jones on the outside looking in, and the Packers released him. The 29-year-old will stay in the NFC North and play against the Packers twice in 2024.

Jones endured an injury-hit 2023 season. He played 11 games, rushing for 656 yards.

Jones has signed a one-year $7 million deal. He is Minnesota's sixth free-agent acquisition.

Overall, the Vikings have committed $148 million across their six free-agent signings.
