Trent Alexander-Arnold discusses the one former team-mate he would hate to play against

Trent Alexander-Arnold compared former Liverpool colleague Sadio Mane to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo and Mane were both excellent forwards in the Premier League, and while Ronaldo succeeded at Real Madrid and then Juventus, Mane struggled at Bayern Munich in his only season there.

Currently, both veterans ply their trade in the Saudi Pro League and are some of the league’s standout players.

Alexander-Arnold played alongside Mane at Anfield, and he suggested that the athletic abilities of both the Senegalese and Portuguese forwards could be compared.

He said to Sky Bet: “Sadio Mané is the one player that I played with that I’ve always thought, I’m thankful that I didn’t have to play against him.

“He was the perfect attacker, he had everything. As an athlete, he was similar to Cristiano Ronaldo – he had the jump, was fast, could finish both feet, and was a threat at all times.”
